Samuel Beckett's Endgame : against Hegel's Phenomenology of Mind

Samuel Beckett collates the theme of the master and the follower with the theme of the master and the slave which Hegel develops in Phenomenology of Mind. The play begins with the protagonists in the situation of the lordship and bondage dialectic : Hamm is the lord, Clov is the bondsman.

Does Clov get free through work ? In fact, Clov gets free because he finds a father as seen in previous papers. This father, settled in theater by Corneille, has been despised by playwrights who followed… Samuel Beckett rehabilitates him by underlining the lack of consistency of the hegelian theory of liberation by work.
