(Evil in Waiting for Godot and Engame)

In Beckett's Waiting for Godot, Pozzo tortures Lucky to have a feeling of (false) strength. In Endgame, Nell hates Hamm, his son, because she had dreamed of eternal romance and was deeply disappointed by marriage… Clov both loves and hates Hamm who never minded him when Clov needed a father… Hamm, too, has been very unkind with Clov and Pegg because of his egoism… In Endgame, Evil is a result of stupidity and selfishness.
